Feb. 11th, 2007 09:43 pmShort and sweet: I am feeling much better. Sleeping for three days can do that to you.
39 days until the Vancouver Convention.
Anyone else going?
I still cannot believe that I am going. It took my friends a good 2 months to talk me into going. Then I sat on the Creation website for a few minutes, wondering if I really should spend close to $500 for a ticket.
I didn't want to go by myself. I can be shy at times, and I was just thinking that I would be sitting somewhere off on my own. Then I started to visit boards that had others who were going. Since then, I am so happy that I got my ticket and I feel like I'm waiting for Xmas to arrive in March.
For so long, the idea of a convention has been a constant source of comedy for me. Losers who went to Star Trek conventions were jokes. But Stargate *isn't* like Trek. For me at least, it is so much better.
Now, to make my experience complete, we just need a showing of ADB.

Date: 2007-02-12 08:15 pm (UTC)I'm going to the con, but you already knew that! ;)
I had poked my head into the Vancouver Con thread on Gateworld last March. There was a quite a buzz there, as you can well imagine! People were just getting back from the con and already talking about the next one, which was a whole year away. I chatted and asked questions and then finally sometime in April I took the plunge and purchased a ticket. I was kinda scared, because
1) it was a lot of $
2) I didn't know anyone
3) I'd be traveling alone to get there
But now after hanging on the thread, I've come to know people (like you! :D) and now I'm really excited and looking forward to it. It's going to be quite an adventure! :D
