Seriously? That much?

I got my check from my grandmother's life insurance. It's not much, but I think I will get my plane ticket to P4 now.
OMG have you seen the prices? I wonder if it would be wise to buy now in case the cost goes up and up.
I can get a ticket for around $1000 US but I'd have to do a layover in Chicago. Chicago. In January. I'd rather stick a knife under my fingernail.
I think I might try the midnight on Wednesday trick. Cheapest fare. I'm also doing the Expedia and Orbitz email when the price changes email. I was hoping for around $800. HAHAHA. Oh well.
Anyone know of any super-secret lowfare sites that won't make me do 3 layovers?

I'm gong to try to wait until Aug. or September for my tickets and hope trends follow last year's - prices dropped after Labor Day. Good luck and let me know if you find anything good (and yes I'm a little ocd when it comes to finding cheap tickets).
