Pointless question of the day

This is driving me crazy- does anyone remember that show from the mid 80s with a guy who was a Indiana Jones rip off who lived in the jungle and had a short, sweaty side kick who may or may not had an eye patch. I think the lead guy had a monkey and a real generic blond girlfriend with bad feathered hair?  Does this ring a bell?  I have no idea why I am thinking about this, except I'm at work on Christmas eve and it's snowing like mad outside.

Tales of the Gold Monkey.  It's from Donald Bellisaro who also does NCIS which I have been mainlining.

It was Tales of/from the Golden Monkey, or something like that, and it had the guy who was the dad from 7th heaven in it. That's all I got, but that should be enough to google on, I think. ;-)
