I got the news last night from arlessiar   when I was at the Radiohead concert.  I actually was shocked.  

How do I feel?  My hatred for Joe Mallozzi knows no bounds.  He killed my show, plain and simple.   Atlantis is the only scriped show I watch.  It is also the only fandom I have.  This is it, and it's ending.  I'll still be here on LJ because I have met some wonderful friends. I will still go to Pegasus 4 and meet up with the girls.  I will still clutch "Echoes" to my heart and squee mightly.  

For entertainment, I will go back to music, my first love.  It took one Rodney McKay to pull my interests to him and away from whatever little indie band put out.  I know he'll never read this, but a HUGE thank you to David Hewlett. It is him that got me to hooked on this show.  He's an amazing artist and I will continue to follow his work.

Ok- I will go now.  I need to buy a dress for a wedding I'm going to on Saturday.  I took today off from work to recover from last night.  Tomorrow, I may be in tears during The Shrine, but I know I'm not the only one.

Thank you all!  I'm not going anywhere!

If it makes you feel any better, you weren't the only one surprised by the news. I almost swallowed my tongue when I saw. I'm so crushed right now. :(
I don't know if I ever expected the show to match SG-1 but I thought we'd have longer than *this*.

It was finally getting it's groove back after last season. :(

I first heard it on Twitter last night before going to bed from dragontamerno3, then arlessiar, then you. My internet was broken last night so I couldn't get on and find out what was going on until this morning. *sobs* We knew the end was coming and I thought we'd get season 6 but this... this is too soon. And it just sucks that Mullie and Mollozzi, the 2 guys who killed our show, are penning the movie. :S

No matter what, we've still got 5 seasons and an incredible volume of work from Hewlett (which is only going to grow).

I wasn't all that surprised by the announcement actually. Doesn't mean I'm not disappointed though... I'm going to miss my weekly McSheppy and Team moments.

Oh honey, I'm so sorry that I disturbed you at the concert with these bad news! I didn't think, it was early morning here when I twittered, right before I went to work, and I was a bit suprised myself and I didn't remember that you were at the concert at that time... so sorry! Hope you could nonetheless enjoy the concert you had so been looking forward to! I'm really sorry!

Cannot twitter from work and I also don't use my cellphone to get twitter messages, so I didn't see your twitter about your reaction to my message and about wanting a confirmation before I came home this evening. So I'm also sorry that I didn't answer right away and left you alone with this tiny bit of shocking news.

And yes, the news suck. As I said in my LJ, I had expected it somehow (although it still shocked me when I saw the confirmation), but I never wanted the show to end, I was just sad that the show wasn't as good anymore as it once had been or still could be if some things hadn't been handled so poorly...

I'm sad that an era is over. Atlantis is a huge part of my life and like you I'll stay on LJ and also in the fandom. And Peg4 is a given, can't wait to see you all again. We can cry together then for a while, I guess, for what was and for what never was but should have been. :(

Good luck with finding a dress for the wedding!
And yes, I'm sure I'll also cry when I watch The Shrine. :(
