Hello---

Back from Stonehenge.  I wanted to post a pic from Photobucket, but this crappy computer at the airport will not let me!!!  Plus, it ate £2.00 (But then it gave me 20 minutes.  Who knew computers smoked crack???)  I bought tons of Hewlett pics (including a signed pic from both David & Kate) plus a signed pic of me and Paul McGillion who is wearing a KILT!  I bought the Special Ops Sheppard in a comic book store, so now I can take both of my dolls and do Doppelganger.

AND I BOUGHT A RODNEY CLOCK!

Pics and lots of updates to come.  Bottom line- I had a blast.  Big thanks to [personal profile] pavaneofstars, [personal profile] nakedwesley, [personal profile] loosair, [personal profile] rasah, [personal profile] suekay_87, [personal profile] strivaria

Howdie all!  Typing from Heathrow airport.  The internet access here is cheaper than at the hotel.  I arrived and did London a touch.  Spent more time at the British Museum and went to a comic store and bought another Sheppard doll (Special Ops Sheppard!) and am waiting for more of the P3 people to arrive.  Been hanging out with

[personal profile] pavaneofstars and [profile] karaotter, and having a grand ole time.
More later!

Kisses

Less than 24 hours until I leave for London.  I already have my boarding pass and my window seat.  I just need to CHILL now.

No change in my Mom, which is good they say.  It gives her time to recover.

For those who are going to P3- I will see you at the Thistle.

Pic for me. Memories of last convention.  (whoever took this- thanks for letting me snerch)

1:36 pm.  I was drying a blanket and someone took it out of the dryer before it was fully dry.  Grrrrr!  If an item is actually dry, people can remove it, but this was slightly damp.  Oh well, I've got it hung up in my bedroom to fully dry.

As for my Mom, the staff put her back on the breathing tube and they have started her on dialysis.  They weren’t too worried about it.  With her breathing, she is still heavily sedated and that is causing her breathing to be slow, so they did it for that reason.  For the dialysis, she's not able to drink yet and the fluids in her IV are not being expelled as fast as they want.  But she's doing good otherwise.  Heart is going just fine.  The nurse again told me that me going on this trip is ok because even if I was at the hospital, there is nothing I could do but sit by her bed while she's sedated.  As for the minor setback, they expected this, because her health was not in good shape before she went in.

I've pretty much did about 90% of the laundry that I need to do.  I'm slowly cleaning up the house to get it in good shape to have my co-worker's daughter come and feed the cats.  The house is not a mess, but there are things that I don't want her looking at (tax info, letters from old boyfriend, etc) that need to go into the basement storage.  I need to dig out my carry on bag and figure out what I want to keep with me.  I bought a cheapy flat iron for $14.99 that has worldwide voltage, so I don't need a power converter at all.  My laptop, cell phone charger and digital camera battery charger all have 110-240V capability.  The only things that do not is my good flat iron and my blow dryer, and both of those items are staying home.  I bought a UK plug so I'm good to go.

Learned from the P3 thread at ADB is that internet access at the hotel is 5-7 pounds an hour!!!!  Eeek!  Looks like I will not be checking my email as often as I wished.  I'll just save it until I get into London proper and go to an internet cafe.

So now all I have to do is take my time getting ready so I don't forget anything and that I don't end up 1 day early with nothing to do.  =)

Mom is still in ICU.  She had to have extra doses of pain medication last night, so she's still loopy today.  The staff do not want to move her into a regular ward until she gets off all IVs and stabilizes more.  Once she is in a regular ward, she can get phone calls.  I hope to call her before I leave.

Speaking of leaving- there is a pretty big snow event expected next week *after* I leave.  Well, good news for the flight but bad news for me missing snow.

[profile] karaotter- I was planning on giving you a quick phone call, but I don't remember your schedual.  Let me know when you are free.

I cannot wait to meet all who are going to P3.  Again, I will be arriving at the Thistle on the 23rd.  I should be there around afternoon, depending on how long it takes to get through customs, the Hoppa bus and all that.  Look for me with the orange fleece.  I plan on wearing it quite a bit.

Off to my friend's birthday party.

Mom has had her surgery postpoined for one day.  The doctors want to run a 3rd echocardiogram to make sure they have everything.  She is up at Stanford right now.  I am keeping my cell phone at hand all day.

Finally well.  It took almost a week.

Pimpage- I know you've all see [personal profile] thingswithwings 's Atlantis jokes.  Just in case you missed it-  http://thingswithwings.livejournal.com/22249.html Very funny.  Love the McKay ones.

For P3- I have ticket #220.  Weeeeeeeeee!  6 days until I fly out.  Can you believe it?

Monday morning already?  Damn.  Spent this past weekend within running distance from the bathroom.  I think it's an experiment my body is doing to see how much Pepto one can take before they turn pink.  I know it's nerves.  My Mom goes into surgery this Tuesday (tomorrow) and I can't be there.  Plus, I'm not the world's best traveler.  I love to travel, but I hate to fly.  I have tranqs for the flight, but I still get nervous about it.

One week to go!  Can you believe it?  I getta hang again with [personal profile] pavaneofstars
, meet [profile] karaotter ,[personal profile] rasah , [personal profile] loosair ,  [personal profile] suekay_87 and everyone else on LJ & GW.  Partay with Paul, Kate, Torri, Dean and Kavan.  Plus- any other crashers! (Cough DAVIDH-CHUCK-DAVIDN Cough).

General info- I will be arriving at noon on Jan 23rd.  I am staying at the Thistle.  I have M&G tickets.  I will be leaving on the 29th.  If anyone wants to hang- please let me know. I'll be showing up with my orange fleece and some duty free vodka.  I am reachable by twitter (Mercury973) email or cell phone.  I just need to check my rates for my cell.  I plan on using my phone, since I need to be in touch with the hospital where my Mom is.  Tentative plan for Stonehenge, but no date yet.  Also wish to go back to British Museum, but I will live if I cannot make it this trip.

Should I buy this for P3? Or just general fuzziness?

I have another orange fleece, but this one is closer to *the* orange fleece.

Snow advisory today.  Too bad I am stuck inside at work.

Kavan Smith has been confirmed for P3.

I gotta get my squee-proof clothes.  It's gonna be like being in the front row of a Gallagher concert.

*OMG*

Paul, Torri and Kavan.  This is gonna be so much fun!!!
